My Work

Here's some of the work I've done, feel free to have a look around and judge.

Achroma Animations

Achroma Animations is the work I'm doing for Realm Runner Studios. It mainly consists of character and background animations for their mobile game Achroma. This work includes, separating and exporting 2D illustrations, rigging and animating these exports/sprites in unity and preparing them with particle systems ready for use in-game.

Egg Heist is a short game in which you use your wits to break into an opening museum to steal a Fabergé egg, this was one of my first solo projects. The projects focus was to use the Fungus plug-in for unity to create a cohesive narrative experience. All the assets, bar Fungus' features and sounds, were made by me on this project.

Petal is currently under development.

PETAL is a 2D co-op puzzle platformer following a pair of newly evolved plant beings exploring an overgrown vault and discovering the life that calls it home. The pair must harmonize with each other and the environment in order to navigate the facility, trying to find a way into the wider world.

Neverpoint

Neverpoint is a 2.5D narrative focused platformer set in a broken universe. Each planet the player visits embodies a specific negative emotion. Jealousy, Hatred, Apathy, Depression and many more feelings of equal severity infest the universe, and it’s up to the player, Soul, to get through it all to reach their goal of finding another of their kind.

Trick the Gun

Trick the Gun is vertical slice in which your sentient gun refuses to shoot enemies, so as the player you'll have to use your environment to take them out instead. This is one of my favorite solo projects, all of the aspects of this game were developed myself and it was a great learning experience for me all round.

My 3D Base Game Asset Kit is a constant project I'm working on currently. The idea being to develop a selection of assets commonly used at the start of game development projects, meaning when I start work on projects in future I'm able to get into the more complex and specific parts of ideas from the start.

A bit about me

Hi! I'm Billy, I'm a Games Designer currently studying at Falmouth University

I've been learning games design as a discipline for the past 3 years and during that time I've worked in multiple multi-disciplinary teams as well as working at Realm Runner Studios animating and preparing 2D art ready for export into their game Achroma. Over this time, I've picked up a lot of experience in Agile methodology and version control alongside developing a broad understanding of game development tools and processes.

My specialisms within games design are level design, animation and creative solutions. Overall, I care about creating an experience that a player can enjoy and take away from, creating meaningful experiences that set out to help people or simply cheer them up.
